By using InWebo with Ping Identity's cloud identity management platform employees and business users can take advantage of single-sign-on, and connect from anywhere and any device without compromising enterprise security. All they have to do is enter their own single pin code in InWebo free authentication applet available on any device (phones, PC, Mac, tablets). Based on the pin code and unique secure elements, InWebo generates a one-time-code which is then passed on transparently by the PIng Identity platform to InWebo's trusted saas identity server for verification.

Authentication does not depend on mobile network availability when getting one-time-code from the phone. Users can self-manage their own set of authentication modules; they can change devices or phone number without having to call customer support, or being logged out of their accounts. InWebo modules require minimal, or no installation at all.

InWebo implements "smart-card grade" two factor authentication in software. Its unique and patented dynamic keys technology makes it insensitive to reverse engineering attempts. On the server side (saas), the customer's secret elements are uniquely protected by hardware-security-modules, which guarantees platform integrity and complete isolation between tenants. Even InWebo administrators will not have access to user credentials.

InWebo synchronizes on the fly with the customer's Active Directory or any other user repository. It can be set-up in less than a day.

In-Webo Announces Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Without Token

Paris, April 17, 2013 - In-Webo Technologies, the European leader in no-hardware, 2-factor authentication solutions for Businesses and Service Providers announces the exclusive launch of a "Cloud Token" called Helium.

2-factor authentication - also called strong authentication - is a way to verify online identities in a much more reliable way than with simple passwords. For example, a code sent in a short-text message to a mobile phone, in addition to a password, is a process used for several years when paying online; however, the safety of these codes has been challenged by large-scale attacks, so they should gradually disappear in favor of one-time passwords (OTP). OTP have been used for a long time to secure access to corporate information systems. A user "token" calculates an OTP on the fly by combining several elements known or held by a user (a password, an equipment information, ...). These tokens consisted so far in devices containing a smart card or, more recently, in applications for smartphones. In addition to the often prohibitive costs charged by the tokens vendors, they are poorly accepted by users, both professional and consumers.

In-Webo Technologies today launches Helium, a "Cloud Token", that is to say, a web authentication tool. What's the advantage? Any web site, Enterprise or Consumer, can now benefit from two-factor authentication to protect its services without having to distribute, or to have users install any hardware or software component, not even certificates. The user simply defines her password at the first login to the site from a browser. When returning to that site, entering her password in the Cloud Token displayed by the site is enough to have an OTP generated and provided to the site for secure connection.

In addition, users can now safely use the same password for multiple sites, since this password is not obtained or stored by these sites, and thus is unlikely to be hacked.
